Equipment and supplies.

The following equipment and supplies are what you’ll need to start seeds indoors. This equipment will last you years to come and you’re encouraged to use recycled materials where possible. 

Equipment:

• Metal or plastic rack, strong enough to hold your trays and lights

• Florescent light rack & bulbs (cool and warm preferably or "daylight")

• Chains & S-hooks for lights

• Timer

• Optional: heating mats, plastic shelf liner

Planting Materials:

• Seed starting mix, preferably organic

• Bowl, nearby sink

• Containers like reusable cell packs (use recycled container like yogurt or coffee cups; be sure to poke drainage holes)

• Label markers (cut old plastic blinds into labels!), permanent marker

• Trays (reuse Styrofoam meat/fish trays to catch water)
